About Research Collections
The Hanover Area Historical Society is committed to preserving the rich heritage of the Hanover area, providing resources and tools for historical research. Our research materials include a wide array of documents, maps, photographs and genealogical information related to the Hanover area.
The Hormel History and Research Center, which officially opened its doors on September 28, 2024, offers visitors and researchers a state-of-the-art facility to delve into the local history.
Located within the heart of Hanover, the center provides access to the Yelland Research Library and Archives, the Pennsylvania Reading Room collections, and expert guidance from our researchers, archivist and volunteers.
Whether you are tracing family roots, researching local events, or exploring the architectural history of the Hanover region, our resources are available to assist you.
A tremendous thank you to our generous donors, Terry and Monna Hormel, Donna Weber and family in memory of C. Daniel Weber, and The WAY Foundation for their invaluable support in making this center a reality.
